Re-Entry Housing

Our Reentry and Transitional homes provide men and women who have just left prison with an independent living environment in a residential neighborhood. The goal of our homes are to help men and women restore dignity back into their lives, learn skills that will allow them to function well and become healthy productive members of the community by overcoming addictions, setting goals and becoming self-sufficient. The homes are for men and women between the ages of 21 to 65, with the mental capacity sufficient to participate in transitional activities, including a sincere desire to change negative behavior. There will be a mentoring program, drug treatment and counseling, and employment readiness programs. Men and women will also receive assistance with employment placement within the community. These activities will prepare them for the challenges they will face in the general society. Perkins Homes Foundation  admission process consists of a Pre-liminary Application which will be reviewed by our Board of Directors with 3 to 5 business days. Once a determintion has been made, the applicant will receive a response of our decision in writing. Perkins Homes Foundation does not offer housing to anyone with violent or sexually related charges. All applicants must agree to obide by House Rules and to actively take part in their Transition Plan provided by PHF.

How can you help? The successful operation of a transitional home, much like any other home, is expensive due to daily expenditures for things such as food, cleaning items and transportation. By supporting Perkins Homes Foundation, you are helping to give recently released men and women an opportunity to improve their lives. Donations of the following items would be of huge assistance.

 – canned/dry food

 – cleaning supplies

 – laundry care items

 – bus passes

 – new towels & washcloths

 – new undergarments

 – pajamas (all sizes)

Monetary donations to sponsor indigent residents are always welcome and needed. Please contact us for more details about any or all of these opportunities at (205) 855-5605 or info@theperkinshomes.org
